ARTes Specialty, an MGA specialising in construction and engineering, today announces the appointment of Martin Parker as head of construction, supporting the business’s continued expansion of its specialist underwriting capabilities.
Parker joins with more than 22 years of experience in the engineering and construction insurance sector. He most recently served as head of construction at Markel UK and, prior to that, spent 19 years at HSB Engineering Insurance, where he held a number of senior leadership roles including head of digital trading. His career has been firmly underwriting-focused, with more than 18 years dedicated to portfolio management.
At ARTes, Parker will lead the development of a new construction division targeting the SME and mid-market space, offering a suite of specialist construction insurance products.
The proposition is designed to occupy a distinctive position in the market, combining disciplined technical underwriting and long-term pricing consistency with a strong e-trade focus. Artes aims to deliver digital capability across its construction products, making it easier for brokers to quote, bind and manage policies while maintaining direct access to experienced underwriters.
